Forest bathing at Norbury Park
A wooded estate on the North Downs near Fetcham and Westhumble, with veteran trees and the old yews of Druid's Grove.
Norbury Park is a wooded estate on the North Downs between Fetcham and Westhumble, managed by Surrey Wildlife Trust. It has veteran trees that shelter roosting bats, English oak and hazel, and in Druid's Grove a stand of yews that may be thousands of years old. The Woodland Hub sits by the estate's old sawmill.
There are three car parks: Fetcham and Young Street off the A246, and Crabtree in Westhumble, from where a surfaced track leads to the Woodland Hub, which has a café and toilet on some days. Druid's Grove is the place to slow down, dark and still under the yews. Most paths are unmade and can be steep and slippery, so this is not a site for wheelchairs or mobility scooters.
