Nature and Therapy UK was formed in 2017 by Stefan Batorijs, who describes the training as developed over thirty years of work with psychologists, counsellors and ecotherapy clients, and says it has an international network of more than 500 students and graduates. It is the only established UK provider that trains in person only, on the basis that the practice has to be learned in a wood. Level 1 is a three-day course; Level 2 is a year of supervised practice with mentor and peer meetings; Level 3 is a residential for experienced guides. Training runs in Devon and, once a year, the Scottish Borders.
What’s included
An eighty-page manual, mentor and peer meetings, one-to-one calls, an online community with a members’ directory, and a certificate at each level.
Entry requirements
None for Level 1. Level 2 requires Level 1, an outdoor first aid qualification and insurance.
