Forest bathing at Clatto Country Park

Woodland, meadows and wetland around Clatto Reservoir on the north edge of Dundee, including a naturally regenerating wood.

Clatto Country Park sits on the north edge of Dundee, around the Clatto Reservoir. Alongside open parkland, meadows and wetland there are several woods: plantations of Scots pine, larch, spruce, beech and oak planted as a windbreak for the reservoir, and Baldragon Woods, a naturally regenerating wood of ash, silver birch and rowan whose coppice-like growth suggests it was managed in the past. The Admiral Duncan Wood was planted by local schoolchildren in 2005.

The reservoir is used for watersports in summer, so the water's edge can be lively on warm days; Baldragon Woods and the plantations are the quieter places to slow down. Clatto links on foot to Templeton Woods and Camperdown Country Park, so it works well as part of a longer walk around the edge of the city.
