Forest bathing at Frog Pond Wood

A small oak and ash wood with a pond and wetland at Pyle, crossed by an old horse drawn tramway.

Frog Pond Wood is a 3.2 hectare council nature reserve at Pyle, mainly mixed oak and ash woodland with a pond and some wetland. It backs onto the Village Farm Industrial Estate, which you would not guess once you are under the trees. Seven sculptures are dotted through the wood, including the oak Keeper of the Pond, and there is a seat and viewing platform over the water.

A long, straight path runs along the eastern edge on the line of an old horse drawn tramway, with QR codes telling the railway story; it is level and good for a short, easy walk. For quieter time, slow down by the pond. There is limited free parking at Pyle Enterprise Centre, or a public car park behind the doctor's surgery on Bridge Street in Kenfig Hill.
