Forest bathing at Hinchingbrooke Country Park
170 acres of grassland, mature woodland and lakes on the edge of Huntingdon, with surfaced paths and a café.
Hinchingbrooke Country Park covers 170 acres of open grassland, mature woodland and lakes on the western edge of Huntingdon. It is close to the town and its station, which makes it one of the easiest places in the county to get to without a car. The lakes give open views, and the woodland areas are more secluded, so you can move between the two at whatever pace suits you.
Start from the car park at the front of the park, where the Countryside Centre and café are close by. Paths range from hard surfaces and tarmac to gravel, compacted earth and mud, with some moderate and some steep slopes, and benches along the way. The surfaced routes near the lakes are the easiest going; for quiet, follow the paths into the woodland. Expect the earth paths to be muddy after rain. The park itself is open at all times, with parking charges during the day.
