Forest bathing at Parc Bryn Bach
A 340-acre park of grassland and woodland around a large lake on the edge of Tredegar, with nature trails and free parking.
Parc Bryn Bach covers 340 acres of grass and woodland on the edge of Tredegar, just off the A465, centred on a 36-acre lake. It is a Local Nature Reserve, with nature trails through the park and an interactive sculpture trail about local wildlife. It is a busy, well-equipped country park rather than a wild wood, but the woodland and the far side of the lake give you room to slow down.
Parking is free, and the Lake View Café is near the car park. Most people walk the loop around the lake; for quieter time, turn off into the woodland paths and leave the activity areas behind. The park is busiest at weekends and in school holidays, when the outdoor activities are running. Check winter opening times for the café before you go.
