Forest bathing at Black Park Country Park
Mature pine stands, mixed woodland, heath and a lake near Wexham, with a lakeside loop and cafés by the water.
Black Park is a large Buckinghamshire Council country park near Wexham, just north of Slough, with around 500 acres of woodland. It is a mix of mature pine stands, mixed woodland, heath and open water, which gives you plenty of variety on a slow walk. Forest paths and trails run through the woods, along with about ten miles of cycling tracks.
Black Park Lake is the focus, with two cafés and a loop walk of just under a mile around the water that makes an easy first circuit. The lake and cafés are the busy part, so for quiet, head off along the forest paths into the pine stands and mixed woodland. Blue-green algae has been recorded in the lake, so keep dogs out of the water.
