Forest bathing at Bradenham Woods

National Trust beech woods around Bradenham village in the Chilterns, with free parking by the cricket pavilion.

Bradenham is a small village in the Chilterns near West Wycombe, set among National Trust beech woods. The Trust's beech woods walk runs from the village through Park Wood and the Small Dean Bank conservation area, on the wooded hillsides above the valley, and it is a good introduction to Chiltern beech woodland.

Start from the free National Trust car park by the cricket pavilion, just east of the church, or from the smaller Smalldean Lane car park further north. The full walk is a little over four miles and takes about two hours, with several short, steep climbs, but you do not have to go far into the woods before it is quiet. Paths are mostly soft and can be muddy and slippery after rain, with gates but no stiles. There are no public toilets; the nearest are in West Wycombe. Saunderton station is about a mile away.
