Forest bathing at Cardinham Woods
A Forestry England wood in a stream valley near Bodmin, with well-surfaced, waymarked trails and a café at the start.
Cardinham Woods is Forestry England's forest on the valley sides of a stream just east of Bodmin, with Cardinham Water running along the bottom of the valley. It is one of the most straightforward woods in Cornwall to visit: five waymarked walking trails, all easy to follow and well surfaced, start from one car park with a café and toilets, so you can pick a short loop or a longer one on the day.
The valley floor beside Cardinham Water is the gentlest place to walk and the best spot to stop and listen to the stream. There is an easy access trail, and a Tramper mobility scooter can be hired. Cycle trails also run through the forest, so for a quieter walk choose the walking routes and head away from the café. There are no litter bins, so take your rubbish home.
