Forest bathing at Pollick Glen

A short, quiet woodland walk along the steep banks of the Pollick Burn at Uplawmoor.

Pollick Glen is a small council woodland at Uplawmoor, under three hectares, set on the steep banks of a glen above the Pollick Burn. It is a modest place, but that is part of its appeal: a well-kept path, the sound of water below and few other people. The Woodland Trust lists it as good for a quiet walk, with woodland colour from spring through to autumn.

The council's walk is an easy one-mile circuit of about half an hour, starting from Mure Hall in Tannoch. Because it is short, it suits a slow pace: walk it once, then go round again and stop where the view opens down to the burn. Loch Libo, a Scottish Wildlife Trust reserve, is close by if you want to make more of the visit.
