Forest bathing at Eastham Country Park
Woodland on the Wirral bank of the Mersey, with some of the finest mature trees on the Wirral.
Eastham Country Park is a stretch of old woodland on the Wirral bank of the River Mersey, at the end of Ferry Road. Wirral Council says it has some of the finest mature trees on the Wirral, and there are views out over the river. The park's old bear pit hints at a longer history as a place for days out.
Most people start at the visitor centre and courtyard near the car park, and woodland paths lead off from there. Walking a little further into the trees brings you away from the play and picnic areas, and the paths along the river give the views. There is a dog-free area if you prefer it. Paths can be muddy after rain. In spring and summer the Mimosa Tea Garden opens for drinks.
