Forest bathing at Coed Cyrnol
A small mixed wood in Menai Bridge, running down to the Strait between the Suspension Bridge and Church Island.
Coed Cyrnol is a Local Nature Reserve on the Menai Strait, between Telford's Suspension Bridge and Church Island with its small medieval church of St Tysilio. It is a compact patch of mixed broadleaved and coniferous woodland on a slope above the water, right next to the town, so you can be under the trees a short walk from the town.
Paths lead down through the wood to views over the Strait, and link with the Belgian Promenade, built by refugees during the First World War, which runs from below the bridge round to Church Island. A gentle circuit takes in the wood, the promenade and Church Island, and you can stop on the shore and watch the tide moving through the Strait. It is a good choice for a short, easy visit, or when the weather rules out somewhere more exposed. Expect some slopes on the woodland paths.
