Forest bathing at Muiravonside Country Park
Falkirk's country park: 170 acres of mature woodland, meadow and quiet paths along the River Avon near Linlithgow.
Muiravonside is Falkirk's only country park, about 170 acres of mature woodland and parkland on the River Avon, on the old Stirling family estate near Linlithgow. The riverside paths are the heart of it, running under the trees beside the water. A sculpture and poetry trail, added in 2016, winds through the trees, and Newparks Farm in the restored steading keeps smaller animals that make the place popular with families.
The art in the park trail starts from the archway beside the main car park and is an easy way in. For quiet, drop down to the River Avon trail and follow the water; wooden stairs from the river path climb to the top of the Avon Aqueduct, where you can join the John Muir Way. The courtyard, café, farm and play areas are where people gather, so the riverside woods are the place to slow down.
