Forest bathing at Sherwood Pines

A Forestry England forest park in the heart of Sherwood, with an easy access trail and full facilities; busy near the centre.

Sherwood Pines sits in the heart of Sherwood Forest on the B6030 east of Kings Clipstone. It is a Forestry England forest park with a visitor centre, café, cycle hire, mountain bike trails and a Go Ape. That means it can be busy, especially near the centre at weekends, but the waymarked walking trails lead away from the activity.

Start from the visitor centre car park and pick one of the waymarked walking trails, or the easy access trail if you want a level, surfaced route. Weekday mornings are the quietest time; parkrun takes over early on Saturdays. Facilities are the best in the area, including accessible toilets and Changing Places, and all-terrain mobility scooters are available. Expect cyclists on shared routes and keep to the walking trails for calm.
