Forest bathing at Tehidy Country Park
The largest woodland in west Cornwall, with lakes, level lakeside paths and free car parks near Camborne.
Tehidy Country Park, run by Cornwall Council, covers 250 acres of woods and lakes between Camborne and the north coast, and is the largest area of woodland in west Cornwall. It was the estate of the Basset family, who were linked to Tehidy from the 11th century, and the main lake appears on maps from 1737. Today there are more than 14km of paths, and the lakes bring ducks, swans and dragonflies.
Most people start at South Drive, by the café and toilets. The lake paths and the pink North Cliffs circular are mostly level and suit wheelchairs and pushchairs, which makes this a good easy-access wood; other trails are steeper and rougher. For a quieter visit, park at East Lodge or North Cliffs and walk into the woods from there. The trees give good shelter on a windy coastal day.
