Forest bathing at Gnoll Estate Country Park
Two hundred acres of woodland on the edge of Neath, with 18th century cascades, ponds and the ruins of Gnoll House.
The Gnoll is a landscaped estate on the edge of Neath, now a council country park of about 200 acres of woodland. Its 18th century cascades, four ponds and the ruins of Gnoll House give the woods a designed, old estate feel, and walking routes link out to Brynau Farm, a Woodland Trust site next door.
Most visits start at the visitor centre by the lake, which has a café and toilets, including a Changing Places toilet. The paths near the ponds and play areas are the busiest; for quieter time head up into the woodland towards the cascades or out along the route to Brynau Farm. Parking is pay and display, and the park has set opening hours, so check before you go late in the day.
