Forest bathing at Quarrymill Woodland Park

A wooded den along the Annaty Burn on the edge of Perth, with a level all abilities path and veteran trees.

Quarrymill is about 27 acres of mixed woodland along the Annaty Burn, just off the A93 between Perth and Old Scone. It was once known as Scone Den, with mills that spun cotton and made starch for the textile trade, and a quarry that supplied stone for local buildings and bridges. A K Bell gave the estate to the Gannochy Trust in 1937 for the local community. Today there is ancient semi-natural woodland and veteran trees beside the burn, with conifer and broadleaf stands on the slopes.

The All Abilities Path runs for about two and a half kilometres, mostly wide, flat and stone surfaced, crossing the burn on a series of bridges and passing two viewing platforms over the water. The High Woodland Path is narrower and earthen, with some steps and muddy patches, and is quieter. There are car parks at both ends, and a café at the Isla Road entrance from spring to autumn.
