Forest bathing at Bracklinn Falls and Callander Crags

Varied woodland on the hill just north of Callander, with a gorge, a footbridge over Bracklinn Falls and views of Ben Ledi.

Behind Callander the ground rises into a mix of woodland and forest, with the Keltie Water cutting a deep gorge at Bracklinn Falls. Forestry and Land Scotland manages about 120 hectares of woodland on Callander Crags, and the Bracklinn Falls circuit runs through varied woods and along a forest road with views of Ben Ledi, Stuc a' Chroin and Ben Vorlich. You hear the falls through the trees well before you reach them.

Start from the Bracklinn Falls car park on Bracklinn Road, just north of the town centre. The full circuit is about five kilometres, crossing Bracklinn Bridge over the falls and a second bridge over the Keltie Water before coming back by a minor road. The main path is well compacted, with a steeper climb to the forest road; the path along the gorge edge to Scout Pool is very rough. Steep drops and deep water need care.
