Forest bathing at Gleniffer Braes Country Park
Wooded glens, moor and old reservoirs on the braes above Paisley, with the Craigielinn waterfall in the Glen.
Gleniffer Braes Country Park rises above the south side of Paisley and covers a large area of mature broadleaved woodland, conifer plantations, moorland, grassland, peat bog, ponds, burns and old reservoirs. The Glen is the wooded heart of it: small ponds full of frogs and newts, Tannahill's Well, and the Craigielinn waterfall on the Knockindon Burn.
The Glen is free of cattle, which graze elsewhere on the braes, and it is the best place to start. Park at Glenfield Road or the Robertson car park and walk in. Waymarked trails cross the park, with surfaces from tarmac and gravel to grass, earth and mud, and terrain from level ground to steep slopes and steps, so good footwear helps. The higher ground gives long views north over the Clyde.
