Forest bathing at Monikie Country Park
Reservoirs, woodland and parkland near Monikie, with wheelchair accessible trails and a café.
Monikie Country Park sits just south of Crombie, near the village of Monikie, and mixes reservoirs, woodland and parkland. Angus Council owns it and Angus Alive runs it, with watersports on the water and an adventure play park set in the woods. The woodland is not large, around 12 hectares, but with water on every side it is an easy, open place to walk slowly and watch the birds.
This is the easy-access choice in Angus: the trails and parking are wheelchair accessible, and there are toilets, a café, a ranger centre and an accessible bird hide. The watersports and play areas draw families at weekends and in the holidays, so for quiet time come midweek or out of season and keep to the woodland paths. Crombie Country Park is a short drive away if you want a second, more wooded walk.
