Forest bathing at Plean Country Park

A council country park south of Stirling where once derelict land is now mixed estate woodland, meadow, ponds and a burn.

Plean Country Park covers about 80 hectares on the edge of Plean village, south of Stirling. It was once derelict land and is now a mix of estate woodland, scrub, wildflower meadow and ponds, with the Plean Burn running through. Plean House and its stable block survive from the old estate. The mix of habitats supports plenty of birds and animals.

The park is entered off Cadger's Loan, with free parking on site. An extensive path network runs through the woods; most paths have a finished surface and suit all users, though a few informal and steeper sections may not suit wheelchairs. That makes it one of the easier places in the area for a slow, level walk among trees. The play area draws families, so walk on into the woods and along the burn for quiet.
